What are days and hours of service for Healthy Start ?
Our Call Center Hours are Monday through Saturday, 7:00am to 5:00pm, closed on Sundays.

Our Transportation Hours are Monday through Saturday from 8:00am to 11:59pm. Sunday transportation is by reservation only

Does Healthy Start provide transportation in the evenings, on weekends, or on holidays?
Yes, rides are provided Evenings, Weekends and holidays.
Who does Healthy Start provide rides to?
We provide rides to senior citizens (60+), veterans, and physically disabled individuals.
What should I know about your drivers ?
All of our drivers have passed a Criminal Background and NC Healthy Registry Check. In addition, they have had training in verbal de-escalation techniques, driving safety, crisis response, CPR and emergency evacuation.
How can I book my ride?
We provide an online portal under “Book My Ride” for your convenience. It’s easy and you can save your information for future rides. You can also call us at (252) 674-1812.
Can my caregiver ride with me?
Absolutely! In fact, your caregiver, or family member, or friend can ride free of charge if the pick-up and drop-off location is the same for both of you. 
How far in advance do I need to make my reservation?
24 hours in advance. Same day reservations are accepted – call in only and pending availability.
Does Healthy Start have wheelchair accessible vehicles?
Yes, Healthy Start vehicles do have wheelchair access.
What kind of vehicles does Healthy Start use?
We provide Cars, SUV’s, Vans and Buses
Will Healthy Start provide door to door (pick up at front door and drop off at destination front door)?
Yes, we will provide door to door service, at no additional cost. In addition, our drivers provide assistance with packages, and other carry-on items at no additional charge.

Miles are calculated from your pick-up address to your drop off address and return.
